There is a growing concern for clean energy in the European region and governments are demanding for clean and renewable energy to become more widely accepted. Using hydrogen for electricity production using hydrogen fuel cells is clean and has zero negative impact on the environment. Hydrogen fuel cells do not use combustion, so there are no harmful carbon dioxide emissions. The units are also noise-free when in operation, adding to their practicality. Hydrogen fuel cells can serve as a backup source of power when the electric grid is down or even as a full time replacement for it.



By 2031, the residential electricity prices are estimated to increase by nearly 17%, which will likely increase the demand for alternative sources of electricity. The current demand for green energy in smaller markets is not being met because of the lack of adequate technology. Due to reasons such as this a company called Alkaline Fuel Cell Power is focusing on developing hydrogen fuel cell units that are more affordable for the consumer market.



Alkaline Fuel Cell Power’s fuel cells use a chemical process rather than burning fuel, which means that there are zero carbon dioxide emissions and the only output is electricity and heat. Alkaline Fuel Cell Power’s designs use more accessible and lower cost materials like nickel and graphite. These designs are intended for use in the residential market and smaller commercial markets, which is why it has a small size and inexpensive components.



The innovative design using inexpensive materials is what differentiates Alkaline Fuel Cell Power from their competition. Because of the low-cost production, the company can manufacture in a high volume. Currently Alkaline Fuel Cell Power is developing its 4kW system, which they aim to have ready for purchase in 2027.
