Tips for enhancing the results from electroless plating

The process of electroplating is considered to be the most important in today’s metal industries. It is one of the techniques that render metallic instruments, tools, machine parts and other objects, durable, safe and long lasting. Many processes have been developed in the dimension of electroplating, however, electroless nickel plating has acquired a different stand altogether. Due to its high efficiency and better performance, many metal manufacturers consider the services of an electroless nickel plating company vital for their business. Here are some tips that can help in enhancing the productivity obtained from the procedure.

Preparing the parts

The parts that are subjected to plating in the future should be pretreated chemically and rinsed thoroughly before they are put forward for the plating process. This process will ensure that the contaminants are removed from the surfaces. These contaminants can be a hindrance in the uniform coating of the metallic object and create problems in the future. Some of the other processes like abrasive blasting or shot peening can also be done or may be even necessary for improvising the surface condition of the subjected substrates.

Purity of water

Another key factor to keep in check is the purity of water. Presence of contaminating agents in the EN bath can seriously deteriorate and downgrade the results that are expected from the electroplating process. This water should especially be devoid of metal ions, foreign matter and certain particulates.

Consistency on filtration

Well, this can be quite a very useful tip. Keeping the water filtered consistently can help in removing the insoluble material far easily and help in getting a smooth level of substrate. Not more than about five microns of porosity rate of filter is required for an ideal filtration of the EN plating process. The desired rate for best results is about four to five turnovers every hour.
